Malmstrom AFB Building 500
Built in the 1960s, Malmstrom Air Force Base Building 500 now houses the 341st Space Wing headquarters and other wing unit offices.
In a step to modernize Building 500, MAFB renovated and upgraded sections of the building in 2007. As fiberglass ducting deteriorates over time, insulation is emitted into the airflow system. Teamed with Talcott Construction Company, Tri-County Mechanical & Electrical, Inc. replaced all ductwork throughout the basement. All fiberglass ductwork was removed and replaced with galvanized metal wrapped ducting. VAVs were installed at appropriated locations.
The basement ventilation renovation extended the ventilation system’s overall life while providing a safer and healthier building environment.
